Originally from St. Louis, MO I kicked around the midwest (Dekalb, Il - Bloomington, IN) till I was about 10. We landed in Spokane, WA in 1976 where I stayed until a couple summers into college. I went to the University of Puget Sound and graduated in 1988. After quick stints at Weyerhaeuser and Boeing I ended up at Microsoft in Jan of 1989. I worked at Microsoft doing software development until 1998 when my wife and I quit to go live in Dublin, Ireland where her family still lives.

Before leaving we did a number of trips with Earthwatch Institute to help track and tag Mountain Lions in Idaho. We did this a number of times and my shots of the cougars were published in the Earthwatch catalog for this expedition and eventually on the cover of the annual expedition guide. Earthwatch Europe still has photos of Elvis the cougar kitten.

We spent 2.5 years in Dublin traveling and keeping the Guinness brewery in business (hey, it worked!). I did some volunteer projects for Christ Church Cathedral where my brother-in-law is a vicar. I was chosen to create the Christmas cards for the cathedral in 1999 & 2000. While in Ireland we did another Earthwatch trip to Mallorca, Spain to help an archaeology dig on Mallorca. We made some amazing friends on those trips. That is one of the greatest things about traveling.

In July 2001 we returned to Seattle where we got involved in the Sherpa Education Fund via friends at Alpine Ascents International. We went to Nepal to meet the kids and climb up to Everest Base Camp. There we met a little girl named Psang Llamu, which we brought to Kathmandu and will be sponsoring her education through high school. We also helped with setting a site in Kathmandu for another foundatin we work with: Bridges to Understanding. In late 2002 I returned to Microsoft where I was till March 2006. I spent a year and a half at Big Fish Games in Seattle and now am on to the next adventure.

I've always been interested in photography but it was my trip to Ireland in 1992 (where I met my eventual wife Alison) where I finally shelled out the cash for a decent setup! It has been an ongoing hobby which I always find challenging, fun and often humbling!

These postings are a small sampling of work I've done over the years, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them.
